UK based retailer Size? is known for collaborating with various footwear brands to bring forth exclusive, sought-after pairs. 2023 has already been a successful year for the iconic retailer, new models such as the New Balance 1906r and classic Adidas runners like the Gazelle and Samba and much more. Now, as part of its Fall/Winter 2023 preview event, Size? has revealed it has a pair of exclusive Nike Air Max 1’s on the way for us sneakerheads and fellow Air Max connoisseurs.
Throughout this year, the Air Max 1 has stood out with retro looks such as the original 1986 big bubble’s making a return, new colourways like the clear jade, bronzes and the mica green’s. Now preparing for the fall, a mixed brown and grey colourway of the silhouette has been showcased which came out of nowhere and shocked us all. Its presentation pulls from Nike’s “Considered” line from the early 2000’s, an environmentally-conscious project that emphasized recycled and less impactful material usage. Leather off white overlays are offset by a brown hairy suede toe-box. A darker brown hue appears at the rough suede Swooshes while the mudguard leverages a corduroy finish which is a definite throwback to the 2008-09 era and the Air Max 1 Patta collaborations. Hemp enters the mix too at the tongue while the heel features debossed Air Max branding to complete the look. This pair is an absolute classic in the making, with premium materials and a must for anyone into Air Max and the sneaker culture. Size? has had no issues with collaborations on the Air Max 1 model, the first of course being the 2005 Nike x Size? Exclusive x Dave White Air Max 1 which was part of the wet paint pack, a grail for many. Then both of the 2018 Air Max 1 Dawn’s and later the what the safari Air Max 1’s now both quite unobtainable and very sought after. Which makes me think the upcoming 2023 Size? Exclusive will follow suit and will have many wanting the pair for their collections and some paying a pretty penny for that to happen.
These will be a very hard pair to obtain, if you have got the plugs and know connections then you will definitely have the advantage with there being rumoured that there is only 2000 pairs being released across all stores. Many collectors have already stated their plans to secure a pair, getting their camping bags and chairs ready giving this release a very big throwback to the good ol’ days.
There is no set release date for the Size? exclusive pair but word is going round that it will be later on next month in September. No pricing info too but I am 90% sure it will be the same as past Air Max 1 colourways.
