Ever since photos first leaked back in April (funnily enough), serious sneakerheads across the planet have been waiting for the April Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low to drop and that day has finally arrived. Made in collaboration with Australian pro skater Shane O’Neill, this marks his brand’s first shoe with Nike and judging by how much hype there’s been, it probably won’t be the last.
Unlike most Dunks, April Skateboards’ version completely switches up the usual all-leather construction for a breathable ‘White’ mesh base instead. ‘Racer Blue’ suede overlays wrap around the entire upper, and if you’ve been into trainers for a while, you’ll immediately make comparisons between this and a certain Air Jordan 1 High OG from 2019. IYKYK.
“April” branding is embossed across the back and heel, and a very shiny chromed out Swoosh glides through the lateral and medial sidewalls. Underfoot, the SB Dunk sits on top of a Zoom Air-infused midsole for better comfort and cushioning and this is finished off with an icy rubber outsole that houses a rose within – a graphic that’s signature to April Skateboards.
From Born x Raised and Crenshaw Skate Club to Supreme and Yuto Horigome, if you’re into SB Dunk collabs then this year’s been a big one. However, 2024 marks the old school silhouette’s 40th anniversary, so if you thought things were about to slow down, you’d be very, very wrong. The April Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Racer Blue’ is set to release on November 27th at Nike, the Snkrs app, and select stockists across the globe. As with anything SB Dunk-related, expect these to sell out. FAST!
